FEEDING THE HUNGER OF THE HEART - MY TIME IN HAITI

In June I was asked to work in Haiti for IMC (International Medical Corps, inc.). I was to train Haitian health workers responsible for leading mental health programs for mothers and children in camps, and for children in orphanages. I gave a day long workshop that had three components: learning to tell stories and explore the immediate and longterm effects of listening to tales - especially cultural Haitian stories; making personal tales and garnering stories effectively and safely; the role…See More

What is StoryBowl?

Mission:

As Storytellers we use stories to build bridges between people. We now call on performers around the world to hold events to raise public awareness and raise funds to relieve human suffering and feed the nearly one billion people who are in imminent danger of starvation.

Tell Stories - Awaken Generosity - Teach Hope

Fight World Hunger

Dear Friends,

With the recent financial crisis, poverty around the world is skyrocketing, with 1 in 6 people on the planet now facing life-threatening hunger.

Last month leaders met at the World Food Summit in Rome to address this growing crisis. The best solution is funding to boost sustainable agriculture in poorer countries, but because of economic conditions, wealthier countries are backing out on a $20 billion promise made earlier this year.

The world produces enough food to feed everyone. Yet the number of people suffering from chronic hunger across the planet has reached the record-high figure of 1 billion this year.

In Response to this crisis, we have created THE STORYBOWL PROJECT.
